Quality cutlery

Although we see that our customers sometimes serve food that makes you want to lick the plate clean, it is rarely appropriate to sit down at the table without a knife and fork – no matter how pretty and practical the porcelain may be.

We are experiencing high demands for products that can complement our porcelain. This autumn we chose to start offering the unique Drinique® copolyester glasses, and now it’s time for high-quality steel cutlery. Broggi is made of 18/10 steel – the heaviest, hardest and most rust-resistant steel on the market. It lasts longer, withstands rougher treatment and is gentler on the porcelain.

CEO at Figgjo, Anne Kristine Rugland, explains why the choice fell on Broggi in particular:

– Broggi is produced in Lombardy in Italy and is a traditional, family-owned business with a rich history – just like Figgjo. Since 1818, they have developed superb expertise in the production of steel cutlery. The design is elegant and has a great “feel” in your hand—somewhat heavy but well-balanced. No shortcuts are taken here, and the cutlery has a long lifespan.

Lab Manager at Figgjo, Gunnar Hetland, explains why 18/10 flatware is widely understood to be the best quality:

– The hardening and the high percentages of nickel give a result that is harder than 18/8 and 18/0. This means that this steel does not rub off on the porcelain, as softer steel does. The surface on the porcelain will stay nice and scratch-free for longer, and the cutlery itself will withstand even more years in industrial dishwashers. This is a piece of cutlery that will get better with age.

Buon appetito!
